Structure
Accreditation Centre is a department of the
RAEE which coordinates accreditation procedure. The Centre is headed by Director assigned by
the RAEE Board.
Staff Duties:
- To accept and consider applications for professional accreditation of
engineering programmes submitted by HEI’s;
- To provide HEI’s with a current version of accreditation criteria and
self-assessment guidelines;
- To make a decision basing on the self-study report whether to continue
the accreditation procedure and conduct an accreditation visit or to suspend
the accreditation procedure until further improvement of the self-study report;
- To examine accreditation reports as well as HEI’s commentaries, if any,
and submit them to the Accreditation Board.
Accreditation Board consists of leading
specialists in the field of engineering education representing different communities. It is
divided into three equal parts: industry representatives, academic representatives,
representatives of scientific societies and research institutions. Chairman is elected by
a simple majority of all Accreditation Board members’ votes and approved by the RAEE Board.
One third of Accreditation Board is reshaped triennially.
Accreditation Board Functions:
- To make decisions on accreditation of educational programmes which is then approved by
the RAEE Board;
- To approve the accreditation criteria and procedure as well as other documents designed
by the Methodological Committee of the Accreditation Centre;
- To suggest ways of development and improvement of the RAEE Accreditation Centre activitiy.
Methodological Committee is responsible for design and development
of the accreditation criteria and procedures, methodological and organizational materials and
submits them to the Accreditation Board. The Committee also prepares materials required for
training courses for experts and consulting seminars for HEI’s.

Accreditation Team Duties:
- To review a self-assessment report on an educational programme submitted for accreditation;
- To evaluate the educational programme during the accreditation visit;
- To meet with HEI’s top management, academic staff members, students/former students,
employers and industry representatives during the visit;
- To prepare an accreditation report as well as recommendations and a resolution which
states whether the programme complies with the accreditation criteria or not.
Regional Departments work on all lines of RAEE Accreditation Centre activity
in their own regions.
Goals and Tasks:
- Forming regional database of experts and consultants;
- Engagement of educational programmes in accreditation process;
- Engagement of consultants from the regional database in consulting activity;
- Provision of HEI’s seeking accreditation with all the necessary materials;
- Preparation for the accreditation visit.
